Began in 1998 as a way to get players from such disparate genres as hip hop, gnawa, drum'n'bass, rock, jazz and whatever, to jam together and kick it with a tasty groove. Lead by bassist/composer Mike Rivard, including Moroccan oud player and percussionist Brahim Fribgane, drummer Erik Kerr, and turntablist Mister Rourke. Members represent the finest in the Boston - New York Improvising / DJ / Rock / Jazz / World Music / Jam scene.

DJ Disk is known as an innovator in the turntablist movement. He's evolved from the early-'90s battle scene to scratch "bands" to collaborating live and in the studio with jazz, rock, punk, and electronic musicians, which has earned him the moniker "Phonopsychographdisk." He joined the Invisibl Skratch Piklz back when they were known as the (West Coast) Rock Steady Crew DJs, and he has since worked with Jack De Johnette, Primus, Bill Laswell, Rancid, Giant Robot II, and MCM and the Monster.
